# MoneyThumb Cash Flow Analysis

## MoneyThumb Cash Flow Analysis

The **MoneyThumb Cash Flow Analysis** Workflow Builder block processes business bank-statement PDFs. It represents `moneythumb_cfa` and `moneythumb_transactions`, combining statement analytics with normalized accounts and transactions.

## Requirements

### MoneyThumb Cash Flow Analysis

| Application field | Requirement | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| Bank statement files | Required | PDF only; Plaid connections are not accepted as a source. |

### MoneyThumb Transactions

| Application field | Requirement | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| MoneyThumb book data | Required | Must contain at least one processed bank statement from a completed MoneyThumb Cash Flow Analysis run. |

## API flow

1. Upload the application's bank statements as bank-statement PDF files.
2. Call [Enrich Business Credit Application](/api-reference/workflow-management/enrich-business-credit-application) with `provider: "moneythumb_cfa"`.
3. Wait for statement processing and the MoneyThumb verification webhook to finish.
4. Run `moneythumb_transactions` after the MoneyThumb book exists.
5. Poll [Get Commercial Data](/api-reference/workflow-management/get-commercial-data) with both service filters.

```json theme={"system"}
{
  "provider": "moneythumb_cfa"
}
```

The Transactions job requires an existing MoneyThumb book and at least one statement in that book. Running Transactions first produces no transaction result.

## Data Orchestration availability and flow

The block is available in the **Cash Flow Analysis** group for business entities. It represents both related services. Statement analysis creates the book and may remain in progress until verification completes; transaction retrieval follows from that book. Re-running the block processes the current eligible statement set.

## What the service returns

| Result area | Response path | Meaning |
| - | - | - |
| Lifecycle | `data.statuses.moneythumb_cfa` and `data.statuses.moneythumb_transactions` | Latest execution message for each service. |
| Statement analytics | `data.commercial_data.moneythumb_cfa` | Revenue, statement summaries, balances, cash flows, negative days, transfers, NSF/overdraft events, and MCA or recovery groupings. |
| Normalized transactions | `data.commercial_data.moneythumb_transactions` | Accounts, statement periods, and transaction rows. |
| Verification | `data.commercial_data.moneythumb_verification` | Latest MoneyThumb book-verification result when present. |

## Field meanings

| Field | Type | Meaning |
| - | - | - |
| `Revenue Statistics` | Array | Provider-calculated monthly and annual revenue summaries. |
| `Statements Summary` | Array | Per-account, per-statement metrics such as balances, credits, debits, negative days, and NSF/overdraft counts. |
| `Daily Balances` | Array | Date-keyed balances by account. |
| `Daily Cash Flows`, `Monthly Cash Flows` | Array | Net cash-flow observations by account and period. |
| `Monthly Negative Days` | Array | Dates and counts on which the account balance was negative. |
| `MCA Companies`, `Monthly MCA`, `MCA Transactions` | Arrays | Provider-classified merchant-cash-advance counterparties and activity. |
| `Accounts` | Array | Accounts represented in the normalized transaction result. |
| `Statements` | Array | Statement date ranges and their transactions. |
| `amount` | Number | Transaction amount as returned by MoneyThumb. |
| `trueval` | Boolean | MoneyThumb's classification of the transaction as a “true” transaction. It is not a fraud verdict. |

MoneyThumb uses provider-defined, title-cased keys in CFA results. Empty arrays mean that no records were returned for that section. Numeric values may be strings, so consumers should not coerce fields without validating them.

## Errors and statuses

| Signal | Meaning |
| - | - |
| No MoneyThumb book | CFA has not created a book; run `moneythumb_cfa` first. |
| Book has no statements | No transaction fetch occurs. Attach valid statement PDFs and rerun CFA. |
| `Started` | Upload or verification is still processing. |
| `Success` | Lendflow stored the service result. |
| HTTP `422` | The service is disabled or request options are invalid. |
| Failure message | Check statement readability, credentials, and the MoneyThumb verification result before retrying. |

## FAQ

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Can MoneyThumb analyze a Plaid connection?">
    No. The current block uses uploaded bank-statement PDFs.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why are CFA and transactions separate results?">
    CFA stores analysis sections, while `moneythumb_transactions` stores normalized accounts, statement periods, and transactions from the created book.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does a queued CFA request mean results are ready?">
    No. MoneyThumb may verify the book asynchronously. Poll both lifecycle statuses before reading the final data.
