TaxStatus Verify Individual

TaxStatus Verify Individual checks whether a primary business owner’s SSN and last name match within the IRS system. It verifies a name-and-TIN match; it does not prove possession of the identity or retrieve the individual’s IRS transcripts. The Tax Status block is available for individual entities in the KYC category.
TaxStatus is a bring-your-own-credentials service. Your organization must connect an active TaxStatus client_id and client_secret before running it.

Requirements

Address, telephone, email, and date of birth are not used for this service.

Run TaxStatus Verify Individual through the API

  1. Call Enrich Business Credit Application for the application.
  2. Set provider to tax_status_verify_individual.
  3. Include the applicable underwriting stage_id when required by the application’s workflow.
  4. Confirm that the response contains data.onqueue: true.
  5. Poll Get Commercial Data with services[]=tax_status_verify_individual.
  6. Check data.statuses.tax_status.individual.verify for completion and read data.commercial_data.tax_status.individual.verify.
The request runs asynchronously. data.onqueue: true means the job was queued, not that TaxStatus or the IRS has finished.

Data Orchestration availability

TaxStatus Verify Individual is not currently available as a Data Orchestration service. Run it through the KYC Workflow Builder block or the application enrichment API.

Sample response

Response attributes

data.request_data.tax_status.individual.verify.tin and the provider’s TIN response can contain the complete SSN. Restrict access to the commercial-data response and do not log or expose these values.

TaxStatus result values

Lendflow stores the provider response verbatim. Use the exact lowercase valid value documented by TaxStatus; do not rely on alternate casing from local test fixtures.

Lendflow service statuses

The Lendflow status and the TaxStatus Result answer different questions. Success means Lendflow stored the provider response; it does not mean the name-and-SSN match was valid. See Data Provider Status Messages for shared provider-status guidance.
