# Business Profiles: Finding the "Owners" Section and Editing Ownership

## Business Profiles: Finding the "Owners" Section and Editing Ownership

## Navigating to the relations tab: finding the “Owners” section

The owners of a business can be found within its business profile. You can start by clicking on “Businesses” on the left-hand navigation menu. Clicking on any business allows you to see its business information, personal information, relations, deals, documents, and bank data. In order to find the visualized ownership breakdown, you must click on the “Relations” tab.

## The components of the “Owners” section

The “Owners” section displays the ownership breakdown of each owner of a business. Each owner has a corresponding company ownership (percentage), type (individual or business), business (# of businesses owned), and deals (# of deals for that owner).

<Note>
  It’s important to note that owners can have different entity types: they can be individuals or businesses. Regardless of the entity type, the owners can have an ownership stake in the business - and this ownership can be edited.
</Note>

## How to edit the ownership of a business

Editing the ownership of a business typically occurs when the current ownership percentage of an owner needs to be updated to a new ownership percentage.

Clicking on “Manage Ownership” will allow you to edit the ownership of an owner for a given business profile. You can enter a new ownership percentage that modifies the current ownership percentage.

<Note>
  Editing the ownership percentage for an owner here does not trickle down to the deal. Any changes to ownership within this section will not affect the ownership breakdown in the deal.

  Lendflow users and Client users will have separate business profiles. Right now, edits on a Lendflow business profile will not affect the corresponding Client business profile - and vice versa.
</Note>

## When ownership of a business exceeds 100%

The total ownership percentage is displayed in the top left of the ownership section. When you attempt to have total ownership of over 100%, there will be validation that says “Ownership over 100%.” You will also see that the ownership percentage is above 100%. When ownership is over 100%, it cannot be saved. To save the ownership, it must be at or below 100%

<Note>
  When ownership is below 100%, you will see the unassigned percentage of ownership. This is the remaining percentage of ownership that needs to be assigned.
