# Creating Scorecards and Scorecard Groups

## Creating Scorecards and Scorecard Groups

Scorecards turn existing deal and data-service information into points, statuses, and risk tiers. A scorecard group combines one or more scorecards into a weighted result so your team can evaluate a deal using several scoring models.

Open **Builders > Scorecards > Builder** in the Lendflow Dashboard to create and manage scorecards.

## Choose a scorecard type

Select **New Template**, then choose the type that matches how your team calculates scores.

| Type | Use it when |
| - | - |
| **Submit Score** | Your team calculates the score outside Lendflow and enters the total points, status, and risk tier in Lendflow. |
| **Scorecard Builder** | You want Lendflow to calculate a score from deal data, custom attributes, or data-service results. |

## Create a Submit Score template

1. Open **Builders > Scorecards > Builder > Scorecards**.
2. Select **New Template**, then select **Submit Score**.
3. Enter the scorecard name and any applicable details, including its total points, status, and risk tier.
4. If the scorecard applies to a specific funder, select the funder and its related offer or workflow template.
5. Select **Finish** to make the scorecard available for use. Select **Save as Draft** if you need to complete it later.

## Create a Scorecard Builder template

1. Open **Builders > Scorecards > Builder > Scorecards**.
2. Select **New Template**, then select **Scorecard Builder**.
3. Complete **Set Scorecard Details**. Enter the scorecard name, total points, and the statuses and risk tiers that the result can produce.
4. In **Choose Attributes**, select the deal, custom, or data-service attributes that contribute to the score. Assign the points and distribution for each attribute.
5. In **Set Attributes Ranges**, define how each possible attribute value translates into points. Use automatic distribution or assign ranges manually.
6. In **Add Backups**, select a fallback attribute when the primary attribute may be unavailable.
7. In **Set Backups Ranges**, configure the scoring ranges for each backup. When applicable, configure a knockout rule to identify a result that should override the calculated total.
8. Select **Finish** to make the scorecard available for use, or select **Save as Draft** to continue editing later.

## Choose attributes for a scorecard

In **Choose Attributes**, use the left-side panel to search or browse the information that can contribute to the score. The available attributes are organized by source.

| Attribute source | What it includes | Examples |
| - | - | - |
| **Application Data** | Information stored directly on the deal and its business or individual profiles. | Requested amount, stated revenue, business start date, industry, address, and owner information. |
| **Data Services** | Results returned by data providers enabled for your organization. Services are grouped by their function and provider. | Business credit, personal credit, KYC, KYB, bank-data, and cash-flow attributes. |
| **Custom Attributes** | Published attributes created by your organization to calculate or standardize information from other available fields. | A calculated debt ratio, normalized revenue value, or organization-specific eligibility indicator. |

Only attributes shown in the picker can be added. The exact list depends on your organization's enabled data services, available application fields, and published Custom Attributes.

### Add and configure an attribute

1. Search for the attribute or expand its source in the left-side panel.
2. Select or drag the attribute into the scorecard.
3. Configure the applicable condition or value selection. The available options depend on the attribute's data type.
4. Assign the number of points the attribute can contribute.
5. Repeat these steps for the other attributes required by the scoring model.
6. Continue to **Set Attributes Ranges** to map possible values to points.

The scorecard reads these values when it runs. If a required application field is empty, a data service has not produced a result, or a Custom Attribute cannot be calculated, that attribute may not contribute points. Configure a backup attribute when the scoring model should use an alternative value.

<Note>
  Scorecards evaluate data already available on the deal. They do not run Data Orchestration or request new data from a provider.
</Note>

## Link a scorecard to a funder

In **Set Scorecard Details**, you can associate a scorecard with a funder from your Lender Network and select its related offer or workflow template. When the configuration matches a placement, the Placement stage can display the scorecard result, knockout indicator, status, and risk tier for that funder.

## Create a scorecard group

A scorecard group combines the results of one or more finished scorecards.

1. Open **Builders > Scorecards > Builder > Scorecard Groups**.
2. Select **New Scorecard Group**.
3. In **Choose Scorecards**, select at least one finished scorecard.
4. In **Set Order**, arrange the scorecards in the order in which they should appear.
5. In **Set Details**, enter the group name, total points, statuses, and risk tiers.
6. In **Set Weight**, assign each scorecard's contribution to the group. Use equal distribution when each scorecard should contribute the same weight.
7. In **Scorecards**, map each individual scorecard's result ranges to group points.
8. In **Add Rules**, define whether an individual scorecard's status or risk tier should set the group result.
9. Select **Finish** to make the group available for use, or select **Save as Draft** to continue editing later.

## Make scorecards available in a workflow

A finished scorecard is not automatically shown in every deal. In **Builders > Workflow**, open the applicable workflow template and configure its **Scorecards** stage. Select the scorecards and scorecard groups that should be available when a deal uses that workflow.

## FAQ

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What is the difference between Draft and Finished?">
    A draft remains editable but cannot be run on a deal. Select **Finish** when the scorecard or scorecard group is ready to use.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How many scorecards are required for a scorecard group?">
    A scorecard group requires at least one finished scorecard. Add multiple scorecards when you want the group to combine several scoring models.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happens when a primary attribute has no value?">
    If you configured a backup, Lendflow evaluates the backup attribute and its ranges. Without a configured backup, the missing value cannot contribute points to the score.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does a knockout rule automatically run another workflow action?">
    A knockout rule changes the scorecard result according to the template configuration. Any subsequent deal routing or automation depends on the workflow configuration.
